Dewey Beach Hosts First Restaurant Week in Early May

Dewey Beach Hosts First Restaurant Week in Early May

Ten years ago if someone told you that Bill Cosby would be on trial, Donald Trump would be President, and Dewey Beach would be featuring its culinary know-how with a Restaurant Week, you might have thought they were crazy. But here we are and yes: Dewey Beach is hosting its first ever Restaurant Week in early May. May 7th-11th, eight Dewey Beach Restaurants will be participating in a restaurant week with all kinds of mouthwatering specials to sink your teeth into!

Steve “Monty” Montgomery, owner of The Starboard and The Starboard Raw, is excited to have two restaurants participating in the inaugural food-centric week. “An event like this shows how Dewey Beach is growing and it shows how much we’ve evolved from a culinary aspect, which is awesome too. The business community is very proud of how great our town has become, and we’d like everyone to come in and enjoy our restaurants.”

Jimmy O’Conor, owner of Woody’s Restaurant echoes Montgomery’s sentiments about the event. “We really want to let people know that Dewey Beach has more to offer than just our vibrant night life. We have some really great restaurants as well!” He adds that there is a growing excitement for all the business owners over the possibilities this inaugural event brings up from the culinary perspective.

The eight participating restaurants which also include Nalu, the newly minted Mez-Cali, Gary’s, Hammerheads, and The Dewey Beer Company will each be featuring a 3 course meal for $18. In addition, they will offer a custom logo stadium cup with a  specialty $5 drink or craft beer.  The business owners want to invite everyone to give Dewey Beach a try just before their parking meters and permits kick into effect on the 15th of May.

In addition to the delicious food being featured, there will also be art on display throughout the restaurant locations by artists who participate in the Dewey Artist Collaborative. Come on down, park for free, walk around, and enjoy dining Dewey Beach Style May 7th-11th.
